Volunteer Opportunities

The JSEI Affiliates Make Surgery Bearable program provides plush Dr. Teddy MD teddy bears to each and every pediatric patient undergoing eye surgery at the Institute. Sponsored by friends and donors, the bears help children feel secure during a scary time.
Volunteers are needed to assist the program in two different ways:
• Work sponsorship tables on campus during both the December and May sponsorship campaigns.
• Assist in tagging the bears with a special Affiliates sponsorship tag and delivering the bears to the Pediatric Division for distribution to patients. Tagging Volunteers are needed approximately two to three hours at a time, once a month. All tagging takes place in the Development Office during business hours.
