The VISION In-School program for fourth through eighth grade students
was implemented by the Affiliates in 1996. JSEI Affiliates' volunteers
have taught the interactive curriculum which covers anatomy of the
eye, eye disorders, eye safety and injury prevention in scores of
local classrooms, introducing over 9,000 children to this unique
science program.
Eye injury is the leading cause of blindness in children in the United
States. VISION In-School provides children information on how to protect their precious gift of vision.
Community Insight speaker's bureau has presented free public eye care lectures at senior centers, schools and civic organizations.
Consumer Health Education
JSEI Affiliates provides a variety of informational services to
the public through their programs, as well as select health fairs.
