Over the last several years, faculty members at the Jules Stein Eye Institute
have been awarded numerous new research grants from public and private
organizations. Additionally, several major grants were renewed and
highly competitive research fellowships were awarded to postdoctoral
fellows studying at the Institute. These grants represent the diverse
research interests of faculty and fellows within the vision sciences
and are aimed at conquering the major diseases afflicting the human
eye, including glaucoma, cataract, macular and retinal degenerations,
and the ocular complications of AIDS.
The JSEI Affiliates Tribute Fund was established to support vision
science research projects and JSEI research faculty. Each year,
funds collected within this fund are directed towards a specific
research project at the Institute.
