Ms. Linda Valliant

Linda, a California native, attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with honors, and has completed a Non-Profit Management Certificate course at UCLA.

After college, Linda joined a prominent consulting firm, Atlantis Scientific, in an entry-level position. She became Managing Director of the firm, and was project leader on many nationwide environmental planning and land use studies conducted for government and private clients. Before completing her tenure, Linda was given the assignment to establish a regional office in Florida and assumed full managerial duties for their Southeastern region.

Volunteering and community service have been an integral part of Linda's life since her teenage years. She earned recognition as a Volunteer at the Methodist Hospital of Southern California, the Blind Childrens Center in Los Angeles and the Napa Valley Museum. Linda was also honored with election to the Board of Directors of the Blind Children Center for two separate terms.

Since 1987, Linda's professional career has been centered on non-profit management and fund development. She served as program officer for the Jules and Doris Stein Foundation, managing a five-million dollar grant budget. When the Stein Foundation was reconfigured, Linda was appointed as Administrator for the Jules and Doris Stein UCLA Support Group at the UCLA School of Medicine. In this role, she managed development, community outreach and volunteer activities, as well as being the primary liaison between donors, volunteers, physicians and University Administration. Linda is currently employed by Canine Companions for Independence and is a Regional Executive Director of the Southwest Regional Center.

Linda's professional career and volunteer service have earned her numerous honors and appointments. She was selected to serve on the National Grant Panel for the Delta Gamma Fraternity and was awarded a Panhellenic Woman of the Year Honor for her service. Linda was also chosen to serve on the Steering Committee for the National Institute's of Health Public Eye Education Project. Linda is a Founding Member of the JSEI Affiliates volunteer organization, serving on its Board for over ten years. She is currently an Advisory Board Member for the Gerald Oppenheimer Family Foundation.

Linda is dedicated to the non-profit world. As a long-term advocate and private supporter of the JSEI Affiliates, she counts herself especially fortunate that she has a chance to apply her skills to advance the Affiliates mission.
