Mrs. Audrey Bok

Audrey's interests are currently focused on volunteer work at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, gardening (including Ikebana flower arranging), monthly meetings of her book club and the extensive book reading preparatory to that activity, and taking classes in spinning and cardio respiratory boxing at her local health club.

Audrey Bok is a native Californian. She attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and subsequently worked at the Rand Corporation in Santa Monica, California before the birth of her three sons. At the Rand Corporation, she worked in the Economic Department as an assistant to Drs. Daniel Ellsberg, James Schlesinger and Nancy Nimitz. The latter was the daughter of Admiral Chester Nimitz, former commander of the United States Pacific Fleet during World War II. Audrey is married to Dean Bok, Professor of Neurobiology and Dolly Green Professor of Ophthalmology at the UCLA School of Medicine.

Now that her children are grown, she enjoys traveling with her husband Dean when he attends meetings at interesting places in foreign countries.
