Marti Oppenheimer, the current chairperson of the JSEI Affiliates
Advisory Committee and wife of H. Tony Oppenheimer, grandson
of Jules & Doris Stein, has been involved the JSEI Affiliates
since moving to southern California in the mid 1990's.
Marti's history of charitable involvement is noteworthy. As a young
professional, she became an active member of the Junior League,
the Women's Club and the Jewish Federation, while living in
the state of Texas.
A move to Kansas City introduced Marti to a variety of new organizations
including serving as a Board member of the Jewish Community
Center of Kansas City, a founder of the Oppenheimer Stein
Sculpture Collection, and a member of the Foundation Board
at the Johnson County Community College.
A strong commitment to women's health brought her to leadership roles
with the American Cancer Society, the Menorah Medical Center
Auxiliary and the Breast Cancer Advisory Board of the University
of Kansas Medical Center.
In addition to her involvement with the Affiliates, she is involved with
other area charities including serving as a member of the
Board of Governors for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in
Los Angeles, serving on the Advisory Board of Boys Town, member
of the Collection Committee at the Los Angeles County Museum
of Art, and a member of the Music Center's Blue Ribbon organization.
Marti is vice-president of the B.E.S.T. Foundation and is on the
Advisory Board of the Oppenheimer Brothers Foundation. The
hands-on experience she has gained in working with these diverse
non-profit boards and her own family foundation is invaluable.
