JSEI Affiliates was launched by the Jules and Doris Stein
UCLA Support Group in 1990 as a broad-based volunteer
network to serve the Jules Stein Eye Institute. The
goal of JSEI Affiliates is to "provide the best
possible vision for every person." Four integrated
programs were created to meet this ambitious goal:
The diverse and far-reaching activities of the
Jules and Doris Stein UCLA Support Group provide a critical
infrastructure for the institute, initiating and implementing
projects that advance vision science, education and patient
care in ways that reach out to the community and further the
Institute. This extraordinary volunteerism provides the extra
momentum necessary to maintain excellence.
